Gah.... XD

You submitted your new song right as I was reviewing your original one. Well, I guess I have to review this one now, huh? XD

It seems you've changed your percussion in the beginning. You've added another harmony, too - it's nothing short of perfect as far as what I'd ask for.

You have that same, awesome melody there. Sweetness. I love it. =D Ooh, and you've added to it! I think I liked it without that extra bit, but it's still really, really good.

Sheer awesomeness, I tell you. You've done a great job with this song. (The one flaw, I think, is the part where you take out all but the drums, add the harmonies one by one, and then add the melody. But it's still a great song.)

I have nothing to suggest, save try remaking it when you're a lot better at this - if it's this good now, imagine it then! =D

I want to remix it even more now. XD

Drumr345 responds:

Yeah...It was kind of weird...I sent my first version in and thought...well that one sucked. =D So I was going to wait a little bit but thought AH why not submit this one now.

Yeah sure you can definately remix this...I love the chord progressions XD

Let me know when you're done I'm looking forward to hearing it!

Nice for your first.

Hah, you're about at the skill level I was at when I started. :) (And that was no less than two weeks ago. Hah.) Well, let's look at your song.

It starts out nicely - there's a bit of an empty spot, though. I don't know what about it makes the song empty, it just is. I had this problem, too with my first songs. Hmmm.

Overall this song is relatively nice-sounding - good for your first. One problem with it is that empty spot in the beginning that comes right after the cymbal - you lose the rhythm and the buildup of the song - if you want to keep the listener's head bobbing, you don't want to do that. It's somewhat bland, though, in structure, melody, instruments, etc. You might want to work on your originality and consistency in the song.

The orchestral parts are nice, though half-baked - you also use the cymbal a little too much, in my opinion. Work on that. I suggest you remake this when you get better. It would be nice to see a remake of your first song after a lot of significant progress, right? :)

Well, hope I helped with this review. Work consistently and you'll get good at this.

Ah, while I'm at it... why don't you review some of my songs in your spare time? Especially look at Dark Storms at Sea and Project -Aster-. I'd appreciate it. :)

Attasuke responds:

ty =D! Yeah, now going over it I wish I hadn't put that pause in there.. and the cymbals O_O yeah deffinately gonna remix this one

Good song. =)

Well, let's look at your song. It starts out too loud, I have to tell you that. In the part right after the introduction, your sound quality virtually exploded, and while it's bad throughout the rest of the song that's the part where it's at its worst. The guitar that comes in later in the song is a little loud and annoying, and cuts off a little too sharply, too.

Everything else in this song, however, is genius. You chose your instruments well, I have no criticism for your percussion, and you've done a fairly good job on melodies and harmonies in this song. One rare quality this song has is that there's no melody, but rather a lot of harmonies that sound really good together. Unless that pad playing in the back is your melody. But that's just a four-note pattern, right?

Great song overall - more songs like this are a great idea. Go ahead and send me a PM if you ever submit a song and want me to review it. =)

BreedCrasher responds:

Thanks for the very good review! The reason why it becomes a bit loud and to hardcore bumpy is because Magix somehow cant handle when its to many files, seemingly as I had maybe one or two soundfiles to many... I'll try my best on the next one then without to many soundfiles.

Hah. Reviewed before verification. XD

Hah, I bet this review's a surprise for you - you're still waiting for verification, aren't you? I remember when I was. =P You know, you can vote on your own songs... unless you don't believe in that, go ahead and vote 5 on it.

Thanks for reviewing my audio - I've decided to repay you with a review for you, so here you go. =)

Well, let's see - you've got good melodies, though maybe you should smooth it out where the strings are "plucked." Seems a little loud there, in my opinion. But that aside, you've got melodies and instruments for it down perfectly in this song. Harmonies are well-chosen as well, so I really have next to no criticism for this song, which means I think it's great. =)

Hah, I can't tell if it continued or started again just now. XD

Hmm, is this the first thing you've made with FL? Because it's good by standards for first songs here. Better than my first song, hah. =P

Given you improve with each song (it wouldn't make sense if you didn't) more songs like this are a good idea, though you might want to try delving in other styles as well. I'd like to see what you can do with other genres. =)

Wayne responds:

lol wow, this did suprise me. Thank you very much for the positive reviews and advise! ^_^

This one's good.

This is good - I can imagine this actually playing in the game in place of its original. The problem is, I can imagine it like that a little too well - from what I remember from the original song, this isn't very different.

I like what you've set up in the beginning of the song with the drums, and I can easily imagine you following through into a breakbeat remix, though you didn't. What I don't like is how it ends - is this supposed to be a loop or what? I'm more for real endings, even if it means simply fading out rather than cutting off like you did.

All faults aside, though, you've done a fairly good job on this. If you're planning to submit another remix anytime in the near future, consider it reviewed. :)

Buoy responds:

Eh.... how long is it since you played the original? If it's that unoriginal from your side I guess its long ago.

Blah, endings wtf

Thanks for the review.

Seems I've really got to listen to that song!

I need to start by saying thanks for the review - I felt like reviewing another of your songs, so here you go. :)

This song is pretty good, though it lacks in diversity - is this another semi-house song or something? Bleh, I'm bad with genres. =P

I don't really have a problem with this song at all other than the diversity - it's good, though it's not exactly the style of music I'd listen to. You've done a fairly good job with this song overall, though. Given you improve with each song, (it wouldn't make sense if you didn't, hah =P) more songs like this are a good idea. :)

DJ-RISE responds:

This song is pure Trance. Through and through. LOL.

This track is more Anthem-orientated. And I am relatively new to producing Trance. So my abilities are still maturing. I also don't have an arsenal of samples and synths at my disposal.

So I basically try to make whatever
I have work.

In doing so I also tend to veer away from my original idea and make a track of a completely different genre. LOL.

I am quite proud of this track. It came out exactly how I heard it in my head during pre-production.

I also intend to make more tracks like this, each time trying to expand my creative ability. After all new genres are being forged all the time. Old genres are being reshaped. Music is a living breathing thing. LOL. And I intend to live and breath with it.

ROFL. All that and I HAVN'T drunk that bottle of Vodka yet.........Hmm......LMAO.

Thanks for the review. I have to go now....The Vodka is calling me.

Sounds like you spent ten minutes on this.

It feels a little too... simple. It's definitely too short, as well. True, it's a loop, but too short and simple of one to even be used in a game. Try having a real melody instead of that five-note pattern that plays throughout the song. The percussion is also repetitive, as well - maybe not to the same degree as the five-note pattern, but still very repetitive. Try making this longer, and then changing the percussion at a later point in the song. Just trying to help - I hope I did. ;)

horrorhead responds:

Lol yeah thanks, and like i said i've had this program for like maybey just over a week so feedback is always welcome. =D

Good song. :)

Well, to begin with, it starts a little too high-pitched, and then it's a little too loud. The beginning's a bit repetitive, though it gets better as the song goes on. Your transitions are great, but the individual sections are a bit repetitive. The ending could have been better as well. Other than that, it's a great song. :)

Ah, and while I'm at it, why don't I suggest you listen to and review my songs, especially my most recent song, Dark Storms at Sea. It would definitely make my day. ;)

DJ-RISE responds:

Yeah. I didn't really EQ the highs very well. LOL.

But the I meant for the lead to be as loud as that. And the bass to really HIT you when it triggered.

As for the repetitiveness, it is a semi-House track. And House has got to be the most repetitive genre out there. I wanted to stray from the usual House feel, so the song varied in certain respects throughout the track.

Yeah. At the end I was going to get it to run into the next song, which I was planning to be an Electro beat using that Popcorn synth for the main melody....But that didn't happen. LOL. So I just left it like that.

LOL. Yes. I'll check out 'Dark Storms At Sea' when I finish responding to these reviews. But for now that'll have to be the only song I checkout of yours at the moment.

Thanks for your review. Ciao.

*loop-de-loop sound* Whee!

This is one of those songs that grows on you - the first time you hear it, you think it's ok, the second time, you think it's genius. :)

You made good choices with your instruments and sounds, in my opinion. What I really like is the "loop-de-loop" sound (I don't know what it's called) that plays two or three times in the song. The drums are great too, and when you've got the melody going with everything behind it, it's nothing short of awesome. The voices add to the song, though towards the end of it it sounds like you're overdoing it. :P

You suffer from a problem of yours here - repetivity. It's great, everwhere, but I think you could make the song "evolve" as you go through. A climax somewhere towards the end would work nicely.

That's about all I have for you. More songs like this are a good idea. Keep making them! :)

B34T1N responds:

Yeah, thanks for the review ill keep all this stuff in mind, it could come in very handy someday, thanks alot Karco :)

Good. :)

Well. First review on Newgrounds. Fun. :P

This song's okay. And that you can make it in 20 minutes amazes me, when I'm just starting and can barely manage several measures in that time. XD And to take care of this in advance, that's why effort got a six - if you can finish a song in 20 minutes, usually it's rushed or could be improved. You could have spent twenty more minutes for something even better. Right? ;)

The biggest downside, in my opinion, is that it's slow and somewhat repetetive. I like faster songs, but I can't choose tempos for you, right? You stick with the same basic thing. You could try stepping it up a bit later in the song. Try raising your tempo, changing your key, making a new melody altogether, or any combination of the three. This would also add some length to your song.

Try not to stick to one thing too often, diversity done right could double a song's popularity, in my opinion. ;)

Finally - how is this a fight for survival? XD Just a thought. Hope I helped.

B34T1N responds:

Well, I've read this carefully and took in as much as i can, you're ideas for this song are interesting, if I'd of noticed some of this before i submitted, yes, it could've been alot better, and, the names for my songs, they're all random :P
