Anyway, that remix simply blew me away. You just made my life complete. I can die happy knowing that I was one of the first ten listeners of, in my opinion, the greatest remix on Newgrounds. You rock, Karco!

This was a really good song to go out with a bang. Now I cant stop listening to it. This is the kind of trance I wanna aim for...t's just my mixing that's still noobish. But yeah, I love it. I wouldnt be surprised if i got top either.

Well, a mashup is allowed, because if you read the licensing terms, that appears at the front of every audio file, you can read this:

'Share Alike: If you alter, transform, or build upon this music, you may distribute the resulting creation only under a license identical to this one'.

And so what was I did. There's not much difference between that an a remix. But again, a mashup it is allowed

In the licensing terms, you can also read that

'Noncommercial: You may not use this work for commercial purposes unless you make specific arrangements with the artist under another license'.

Of course, I don't have any commercial purpose with that mashup :) only sharing it in NG, so there is no specific arrangemet needed to upload it here.

I told you that I submitted that mashup because I considered that you had to know that

Well, I asked 2 weeks ago in the forum if a mashup could be uploaded in NG, and SBB, an audio moderator, said this:

'as long as you credit the original author, you are allowed to remix Audio Portal submissions, since both the source (the submissions you remixed) and result (your remix) will be published under the same license'

At first, he thought, like you, that a mashup was not allowed, but then he said what I've wrote in the paragraph above. You can see the complete post, here:

What rules all is what the Common License says, and not what the submit page says :) The submit page by saying ''you are making the legal claim that it is your own original work'' means that you can not use other copyrighted songs, but you still can use Common licensed songs, with the same common license.

That Common License, is the same license that allows people to use NG music in their flash movies & games in NG, and that allows other people to remix NG songs.

So, I can assure you, that NG doesn't mind about my mashup. I hope you don't mind either :)
